Study of Radon Levels in Yerevan's Drinking Water: Scientific Research Results
The professional online media outlet Stemnews.am, within the framework of the "Science Centers of Armenia" project, had a conversation with Olga Belyaeva, Head of the Radioecology Department at the Center for Ecological-Noosphere Research of the National Academy of Sciences.
During the conversation, Olga Belyaeva presented the project "Assessment of Radon Emanation Potential and Radon Hazard in Yerevan City," which evaluated the annual effective dose received from dissolved radon in tap water by combining monitoring results of dissolved radon in tap water with population water consumption data
Olga Belyaeva explained what radon is and highlighted the main scientific results recorded during the project implementation.
She also spoke about the main mission of the Radioecology Department and the current directions of scientific research.
