The total length of human blood vessels is approximately 100,000 kilometers (62,137 miles). This number includes all vessels: arteries, veins, and capillaries.

Capillaries make up the longest portion, accounting for about 80% of the total length. They are so fine that blood cells must pass through them one at a time.

If all human blood vessels were connected and stretched along the Earth's equator, they would wrap around the globe about 2.5 times. This complex network, together with the heart, ensures the nutrition of all body cells and the removal of waste products.

Interestingly, a newborn's blood vessels measure about 6,000 kilometers in length, which is only 6% of an adult's measurement. The length of vessels grows as the person develops.
