Eleveight AI's First AI Factory in the Region Opens in Gagarin: HTI Minister Also Attends the Event

On June 1, the artificial intelligence data center of the "Eleveight AI" company—an AI factory that is the first in the region and unique in the world—was officially launched in Gagarin. At the opening ceremony, which was also attended by the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the state's strategic goal was announced: to transform Armenia from a consumer of technologies into a creator country and to establish a regional "garden of AI factories."
The investment volume for the first phase of this supercomputing infrastructure, based on "NVIDIA Blackwell B300" technology, amounts to 70 million US dollars, with an additional 50 million dollars in supplementary investments planned by the end of the year. The center is distinguished by its eco-friendly operational model: it operates on a "Zero Chemical Footprint" principle, uses a closed-loop water cooling system, and is powered by renewable energy sources, which will allow international companies to easily run their generative AI models in Armenia.
Emphasizing the development of local professional and engineering potential, Arman Aleksanyan, co-founder and CEO of "Eleveight AI," announced the targeted allocation of the company's resources. Up to 20 percent of the total computing power will be made available to Armenian universities, research centers, and non-profit initiatives, which will create new opportunities for the advancement of the local startup ecosystem and the scientific-educational sector.
Within the framework of the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry and "Eleveight AI," aimed at developing the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Armenia. The cooperation envisions not only the integration of AI solutions into the public administration system and the development of cloud services, but also the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Virtual Institute (AIVI), which will unite educational and research initiatives, significantly raising the international visibility of the sector.
